Councilman Rich Shuman was elected at the 2015 General Election for a four-year term. Rich Shuman was elected to the City Council in June of 2015.
Born in Henderson, Rich Shuman was raised in Cape Cod, Massachusetts before returning to Boulder City during his senior year. He studied at Georgia Southern University and University of Nevada Las Vegas before pursuing a career in real estate 20 years ago. He is the broker and owner of The Heritage Group Real Estate in Boulder City. He is a fourth generation Boulder City resident. His great-grandmother, Alice Williams, was the first to reside in Boulder City in 1955. His grandmother, Patricia Shuman and father, Ed Shuman, Jr., and extended family still live in Boulder City. He and his wife Keri have four children.
Rich has been a youth sports coach through the Parks and Recreation Department for many years and enjoys volunteering at his children’s schools. As a local business owner and father, preserving the unique quality of life in Boulder City inspires Rich’s work on the Council.
Council member Shuman has been appointed to serve on the Boulder City Community Education Advisory Board (CEAB), the Advisory Board for the Southern Nevada Health District, the Nevada League of Cities Board of Directors, the POOL/PACT Board of Directors, and the City’s Audit Review Committee.
