Residents and civic leaders from across the valley packed the Boulder Creek Golf Course Pavilion Thursday afternoon, January 18, 2024, for the State of the City Address by Mayor Joe Hardy. The theme this year, “Working Together,” celebrated projects that City staff has tackled over the past year, as well as projects of our partners. He highlighted the Chamber of Commerce steps to implement a Main Street Program, promoting our town and businesses as the State's number one tourist attraction, Hoover Dam and Lake Mead; the Nevada State Railroad Museum efforts to build a new visitor’s center; and that the City has entered into a partnership with the National Park Service (NPS) to co-locate our public safety dispatchers. The state-of-the-art LEED certified NPS dispatch facility, located here in Boulder City, will create operational efficiencies and allow for a better quality of life for our dispatchers, who have one of the hardest jobs out there. Nearly 175 people attended the event.
