BOULDER CITY – The City of Boulder City announced today that Frederick “Willy” Williamson will serve as the Manager of the Boulder City Airport. Williamson was most recently the airport manager for the City of Vancouver, Washington’s Pearson Field Airport.
He served in that capacity from 2008 to 2018 and during that time was responsible for overall management and safe operation of the airport and all aeronautic concerns for the City of Vancouver. He also served as airport manager for the Falmouth Airport, in Falmouth, MA from 2004 to 2008.
“Boulder City Airport is such an important part of this historic community, and I look forward to what we can achieve here,” said Williamson. “I’m planning to work with staff and our stakeholders as we tackle several challenges in the coming months. I’m ready to hit the ground running.”
Williamson is a graduate of Mendocino High School in Mendocino, CA and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He holds numerous Airman Certificates including a as a fixed-wing pilot, Flight Engineer (turboprop), and airframe and powerplant mechanic.
Williamson was hired after an extensive national search. He takes over the position after the departure of Jennifer Lopez, who left in December to take a position with the Clark County Department of Aviation. “Airport Manager is a vital position, as over 200,000 tourists took part in air tours last year from the Boulder City Airport,” said Al Noyola. “Mr. Williamson has extensive experience in airport management, and we are glad to have him on our team.”
