[ARCHIVED] Details on Vice President Pence’s Visit to Boulder City

Vice President Mike Pence

BOULDER CITY – Vice President Mike Pence is planning a rally at Boulder City Airport on Thursday, October 8, 2020. The event is being held in an area that is privately leased at the Airport. The event organizers and attendees must comply with Nevada’s COVID-19 Emergency Directives.

Boulder City Police, Firefighters and Paramedics will be on standby during the event. Secret Service will handle security inside a gated area where the rally will occur. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police, the City of Henderson, the National Park Service and Community Ambulance have offered to provide support for various functions during the event.

City staff met Tuesday with Secret Service, campaign coordinators and the Airport tenant hosting the event. “They have been notified that they must comply with State Emergency Directive 033, limiting the event to 250 participants,” said Fire Chief Will Gray, who is Incident Commander of the City’s Emergency Operations Center. “They have agreed that once the 250-person threshold is met, the gates will be closed.”

The public may experience traffic delays during the motorcade travel to and from the planned rally. The FAA will issue temporary flight restrictions in the area during the event.

IF PLANNING TO ATTEND: Doors open to the event at 8:00 a.m. You must have a ticket for entry. Attendees are asked to refrain from camping out on Airport property. Secret Service will be checking in all attendees before entry into the area. Limited bleacher seats will be available. Once you leave the checked-in area, you cannot return. A limited number of bottles of water will available at the event. No personal water bottles are allowed in the event area. The Airport parking lot will be available for parking for those with disabilities. Overflow parking will be located at Veteran’s Memorial Park, approximately 2/3 of a mile walking distance.

MEDIA: The event is being organized by the Donald Trump for President campaign. Please contact the campaign for more information: www.donaldjtrump.com and click on media inquiries.
