City Council voted Wednesday afternoon to appoint two acting leadership roles: Acting City Manager and Acting City Attorney.
Community Development Director Michael Mays, AICP was selected for the role of acting city manager. Michael has been working for Boulder City since September 2017. He has 25 years municipal planning experience and 17 years management experience. Council members had also considered Public Works Director Keegan Littrell, Utilities Director Dennis Porter, Finance Director Diane Pelletier, Police Commander Brent Speyer, Purchasing Manager Paul Sikora, and Communications Manager Lisa LaPlante for the role.
Brittany Lee Walker, Esq. was named acting city attorney. Her experience includes working for Holland & Hart LLP, Las Vegas, NV as an Associate and in the Nevada Court of Appeals for Chief Judge Abbi Silver. She graduated from William S. Boyd School of Law, University of Nevada, Las Vegas in May 2017. She is licensed to practice in Arizona and Nevada.
Both begin working in their prospective roles immediately. Council also voted to direct staff to look for an executive firm to handle recruitment of replacements for the two roles. The process is expected to take 4-6 months.
