[ARCHIVED] Taking Appointments for Lane Two Vaccinations

Vaccine Bottle

BOULDER CITY – Boulder City Fire Department and Boulder City Hospital are now vaccinating people ages 65 and up, as well as certain community support and frontline staff as defined in the Nevada Vaccination Playbook. The lanes are determined in the Nevada COVID-19 Vaccine Playbook found here: bcnv.org/NVVaccinePlaybook. The previous lane remains open.

Community Support Frontline staff and frontline supply chain and logistics include frontline workers who support food, shelter, court/legal and social services, and other necessities of life for needy groups and individuals), utilities and communications workers, and more. “We’ve been receiving so many calls from essential workers and adults 65 and older who have been anxiously awaiting this opportunity,” said Boulder City Fire Chief Will Gray. “While the second dosage does have minor side effects, they typically subside in a day or two and do not require medical care.”

Appointments can be scheduled by calling Boulder City Parks and Recreation at 702.293.9256 Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Do not leave a message, send emails or try to contact other staff. You must speak directly with a scheduler to secure an appointment. Those without an appointment will be refused. When making an appointment, please have some times set aside 28 days later for scheduling your second dosage.

Clinics are held at the Elaine K. Smith Building, 700 Wyoming St, and the Boulder City Hospital, 901 Adams Blvd, both in Boulder City. There is no charge for vaccinations. The Smith Building clinics will run Monday through Thursday, from 8 a.m.-noon and 1 p.m.-3 p.m. for people 65 years of age and older. Boulder City Hospital hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

The City also continues to provide free drive-up testing at the Fire Department – no appointment necessary. The hours are from 8 a.m.-noon on Tuesdays and Wednesdays through March. Please visit www.bcnv.org/COVID-19 for updates to vaccinations and testing clinics.
