Two power outages are planned this week in Boulder City:
Tuesday morning, November 2nd, the Electric Division will conduct an early morning power outage on Circuit 16 out of Substation 1 (500 Railroad). This outage is needed to separated and isolate portions of cable required to switch out and de-energize Substation 1 for continued construction on the Arizona CIP project. Areas affected by outage will be from:
- Railroad south at Date to Colorado;
- Colorado/Denver/Arizona to Nevada Way;
- Cherry St.; Birch St.; Ash St.; west side of Nevada Way between Ash and Colorado;
- New Mexico west of Nevada Way to Ave B.
The outage is scheduled begin at 3:00 a.m. and should take approximately two hours.
Thursday morning, November 4th, the Electric Div. will need to conduct an emergency power outage on Circuit 33 out of Substation 3 (Adams/River Mountain). This outage is needed to replace a failed circuit breaker that is currently in service. This failed breaker was discovered last week during the PAR Construction Crew caused outage. Is also part of the reason that that particular outage was extended. If needed to do so, this breaker will not operate properly, which will cause a more substantial outage which would affect the entire Substation 3 and possibly more of the City’s electrical grid. With the unavoidable ongoing construction along the Adams corridor, it is imperative that we address this issue as soon as possible.
Outage is scheduled for Thursday morning beginning at 3:00 a.m. and will last about one hour. See map here.
