[ARCHIVED] Boulder City Invites You to Historic Preservation Day!

Historic Homes in Boulder City circa 1940

BOULDER CITY - Boulder City is excited to invite you to be a part of Historic Preservation Day on Saturday, May 14, 2022!  Visit a community steeped in history tied to the construction of Hoover Dam, learn more about the architecture that makes many of our homes and businesses unique, and celebrate a way of life dating back ninety years.

For event information and updates, visit www.bcnv.org/HPMonth. “I’m looking forward to touring some of our historic properties and learning about Boulder City’s past from local historians,” said Taylour Tedder, City Manager. “I value the work of our Council, the Historic Preservation Committee, volunteers and staff. They invest many hours in time and effort to ensure Historic Preservation Day is a success.”

On March 15, the City’s Historic Preservation Ordinance Ad Hoc Committee voted to recommend a draft ordinance to codify procedures for Landmark or Historic District designation.  The Ad Hoc Committee’s draft ordinance will be shared with Council for further direction.

The Boulder City Historic Preservation Committee aids property owners in maintaining and enhancing the worthwhile historical resources of Boulder City including properties located within the Boulder City Historic District. Boulder City became a Certified Local Government in 2019 and is working in partnership with local, state and national governments to promote historic preservation efforts.
