Starting today (July 22), the Boulder City Police Department will be “Joining Forces” with other law-enforcement agencies statewide to crack down on distracted drivers.
The “Joining Forces” campaign is a high-visibility, multi-jurisdictional effort to increase safety on Nevada’s roads by increasing enforcement and awareness of traffic laws, particularly those relating to distracted driving. Nevada law prohibits the use of any handheld electronic device — cell phone, mp3 player, GPS device, etc. — while driving.
Through August 4, more than two dozen law enforcement agencies statewide will target drivers who are not giving their full attention to the task of operating a motor vehicle.
