The mission of the City Attorney's Office is to provide professional representation to the City of Boulder City on legal matters, both civil and criminal. That mission includes offering timely and effective advice to the Mayor, City Council, City Manager and all department heads. Further, it is the mission of the City Attorney's office to provide the citizens of Boulder City with timely and just prosecution of those accused of misdemeanor criminal and traffic violations.
The City Attorney of Boulder City is appointed by the City Council. The duties of the City Attorney include being the legal advisor to the Mayor, City Council and City Manager, giving legal direction and support to all City departments, and serving as legal consultant to city commissions and boards.
Defending the City
The City Attorney also defends and initiates, when necessary, legal actions on behalf of the City of Boulder City. Other duties of the City Attorney include reviewing and drafting opinions, agreements, leases, ordinances, resolutions and other city-related documents.
Finally, the City Attorney provides effective and efficient prosecution of all misdemeanor criminal offenses, including domestic violence, driving under the influence, trespassing and all traffic offenses.
