Residential Historic Preservation Grant Program
The City Council, as part of the goals of the Boulder City 2025 Strategic Plan and the 2021 Boulder City Historic Preservation Plan recently adopted a new grant program to help residential property owners in the city's historic preservation district. Property owners can receive up to $10,000, or 50% (whichever is less) reimbursement for eligible home improvements that ensures the home remains a contributing resource to the historic district. Please see the Grant Application and Grant Guidelines for how to apply and what the requirements. Contact Michael Mays with questions at mmays@bcnv.org.
Historic Preservation Redevelopment Agency (RDA) Grant Program
The Boulder City Redevelopment Agency (RDA) has been established to assist businesses and developers interested in projects aimed at revitalizing property within the Redevelopment Area. A significant portion of this area exists within the Historic District. This grant opportunity provides economic incentives for redevelopment activities within this area that result in the maintenance or enhancement of the historical integrity of commercial buildings and structures, and/or improvements which results in a non-contributing property being reclassified as contributing to the architectural integrity of the Historic District.
The intent of this program is to provide property owners and tenants (with owner’s consent) with financial assistance in order:
- To encourage preserving, rehabilitating, and restoring historically significant properties
- To safeguard Boulder City’s charm to ensure it remains an inviting destination for visitors and residents
- To protect and enhance the historic landmarks which represent elements of our historic roots
Property owners can receive up to $99,900, or 50% (whichever is less) reimbursement of the total eligible costs of the project for improvements that ensure the property remains a contributing resource to the historic district. Please see the Grant Application and Grant Guidelines for how to apply and what the requirements are. Contact Raffi Festekjian with questions at rfestekjian@bcnv.org.
