On May 7th, 2024, at a ceremony where 4 individuals graduated for the Boulder City Municipal Courts’ Breaking the Cycle Drug Court Program, Mayor Joe Hardy strengthened our recovery community by proclaiming the month of May the National Treatment Court Month. This proclamation recognizes the importance of substance abuse and mental health issues within the community and what treatment courts can do to help those in need. Thanks to our Judge Victor Miller and the wonderful members of the Boulder City Rotary, 105 participants have come through Breaking the Cycle Drug Court and 56 of them have completed all of the vigorous requirements of the program to graduate. These graduates were given the appropriate tools and therapeutic measures needed to become productive, healthy, and substance free. This year our Substance Disorder Recovery Court celebrates 10 years of the continuous fight to battle the addiction and substance use disorders effecting our community. May we pledge to keep changing lives and uplifting every heart and soul one step at a time.
